PAUL L. RISEBOROUGH
Paul L. Riseborough is Senior Advisor for Europe and a Non-Executive Director of Avascent International, based in London. He is a senior member of the Retail Banking team at Lloyds Banking Group, the largest Retail Bank in the United Kingdom.
Previously, Mr. Riseborough served as Head of Strategy in the Retail Banking arm of Halifax Bank of Scotland plc and as Special Advisor to Lord Stevenson of Coddenham in the UK House of Lords in his roles as Head of the House of Lords Appointments Commission, Chairman of Pearson Plc (owner of The Economist, the Financial Times and Pearson Education businesses) and Chairman of Halifax Bank of Scotland Plc.
Earlier, Mr. Riseborough spent time as a member of the Government Service Delivery Practice of PA Consulting Group, where he worked inside the UK Government’s Home Office, and as Consultant Analyst at Oxford Analytica Inc., where he project managed country risk and investment analyses for international financial institutions and major US, UK and Canadian government departments.
Mr. Riseborough received his bachelors degree (first class) in Politics from Nottingham University, his masters in European Politics and Society from Oxford University (St Antony’s College) and his MBA from Warwick Business School. From 2004-08 he was an Honorary Fellow in European Politics at the European Research Institute, Birmingham University. In 2000, he was named an Economic and Social Research Council Scholar at Oxford University and in 1999 received the University of Nottingham Exhibition Award.
